Most families have one quiet question they do not always say out loud: who is actually going to be in the house? Here is exactly how that person was chosen.
Most agencies say background-checked. We document each step so you can ask about any of them.
Work history, stability and longevity in caregiving roles, screen out anyone whose history does not fit. First phone screen is a real conversation.
Criminal background and sex offender registry, plus verified driver’s license and current auto insurance. Every hire, before any client home. We pay for the background check ourselves.
Two professional references, called personally. Specific questions: showed up on time, complaints, comfort with dementia or post-discharge.
How they carry themselves. How they handle hypotheticals. Whether the warmth on the phone holds up in person.
Visit-verification system, basic safety, dementia communication and de-escalation, infection control, documentation, family communication.
General liability and bonded caregivers. Legal and financial protection sits on us, not on your family. Proof on request.

Caregivers who do not meet our standards do not stay on the team. The reverse is also true: the caregivers who stay long-term are the ones we trust enough to send back to the same families week after week.
“My great grandma is 100 years old (literally) and they take amazing care of her. Katie has great communication and locks in on any concerns or questions we have. I highly recommend!”
Who is actually going to be walking into the house? You should know exactly how that person was chosen, and we are happy to walk you through it on a free call.
Many agencies pass it to the applicant. We do not. Keeps the process honest and accountable to us.
Specific questions, not “would you hire them again.” We listen for what the reference does not say.
General liability insurance, bonded caregivers. We will provide a current COI on request. The basic threshold any agency you trust should meet.
Katie does the matching personally. When a question comes up, the answer comes from the owner, not a call center.
If anything on this page raises a question, call and Katie will answer it. You can also send a contact form and we will respond promptly during business hours.
